As of tomorrow at 5pm, I will be on my way to Chicago for the week to cover Pitchfork Music Festival for Street Boners & TV Carnage (a site by one of the co-founders of VICE, Gavin McInnes). I hope to visit some art museums, take lots of pictures & see some mind blowing bands.

I'm really excited for the entire line-up but Ariel Pink & Wild Nothing have a special place in my heart. If you're going, see you there! F5 Festival was utterly incredible. I haven't been this wildly stimulated and inspired in a long, long time. I had the honor to listen to/watch/experience some of the most talented designers, directors, artists and vjs/djs who exist in the industry. Above are just a small handful of the stunningly talented speakers present. Be sure to check out Learned Evolution's new (and awesome) website. They're 100% to thank for my badge and mind blowing weekend. (FYI: I've been an intern for them since September 2010. The owner/creative director is also responsible of Eclectic Method's management agency.)

Just because you might not have been there, you can still experience all of the impeccable talent and creativity by checking out F5 Fest's website and the individual links posted for each of the speakers (above).

To end, Mark Romanek answered my question tonight, asking to give advice to any budding music video directors. He said the best and most concise advice would be to make them "daring and sincere". I think that advice covers a lot of bases for not only music videos but all aspects of art. I won't forget it.

John (the brains behind Polychronic.us, co-curator) came to visit this weekend. We went to Shopsin's in the Essex Market in the Lower East Side. We split an Original Blisters For My Sisters and an order of Slutty Cakes (pancakes with peanut butter, pumpkin puree and pistachios...drooool). The restaurant was featured in the documentary, (which you can watch instantly on Netflix) I Like Killing Flies.

I also bought this awesome Military style knapsack (it's small, 12" x 9") at an Army Navy Store on Delancey for $22.

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with San Francisco's shoegazey, goth-psych outfit, Tamaryn. Their performance at the MoMA PS1 in Long Island City, Queens during Saturday Sessions on 2/19 was the most beautiful performance I've seen, hands down.
